Hi there!

My name is Kristina Hunter. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family 

Therapist. I am the sole owner and therapist here at The Light Within Therapy LLC. I love working with individuals, couples, and families, ages 14 and up. I refer to myself as a Person-Centered therapist who integrates other types of therapies and techniques to create an individualized approach for each client. I have many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and parents through my internship and residency in an on site school-based programs. During these times I also saw individuals and couples of all ages in an outpatient clinic.

 

I've found over the years to have a special interest working with women's issues (i.e. disordered eating, relational concerns, parenting, stress-management, post-postpartum, etc.). In addition, I love working with individuals on to manage anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem, work stress, life stressors, disordered eating, and much more. I am always open and looking to grow as an individual, mother, wife, friend, sister, daughter, and as a therapist. Throughout my years as a therapist, my goals are to continue learning new therapies, skills, and areas to expand my knowledge base in hopes of better serving clients and my community. I am currently working on Gottman Level 1 training to better enhance my couples therapy skills. My next goals are to begin EMDR certification as well as become a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. A bit more about me. I am married and live with my husband and new baby son, dog and two cats in the Ashwaubenon area. I am originally from Antigo, Wisconsin and moved to GB to start college. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, where I also minored in Human Development and Studio Arts at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay in 2017. From there, I moved to Southern California where I attended graduate school at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, graduating in 2020. There I received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I moved back to Wisconsin shortly after graduation. I love to spend time with my baby, pets, family, friends, and husband. In my free time, you will most likely catch me reading, creating art, playing video or board games, traveling, or watching a bingeable TV show or Movie.
